Hi guys ! I have been struggling for a few days with my computer. I have the following configuration : - Alimentation : Corsair 750W bronze - MB : Asus X470 Prime Pro - Processor : AMD Ryzen 7 2700 - RAM : 32 Go - SSD : M2_2 slot : Corsair CT500P1SSD8 / M2_1 slot : Corsair CT1000P2SSD8 (one part of the problem) - GPU : 2 x Nvidia GeForce GTX1070 (one on PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16_1 slot/ one on PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16_2 slot) My issue has started when I added the M2 SSD on the M2_1 slot (the SSD on M2_2 slot is the one I use for system). Before trying to add the new SSD, I had successfully configured my 2 GPUs with SLI, and it was running smoothly. However, when I added the SSD, it was well detected, but one of the GPU is deactivated by Windows (code 43). I tried to reinstall driver many times, but no better. I did multiple tests, to confirm the GPUs were still OK. When I finally tried to remove the freshly added SSD (on slot M2_1), MAGIC ! The two GPUs were running with SLI just as before. From there, I identified 2 options : - Is my alim too weak to power all of that ? - Is it coming from the lanes repartition on the MB ? I'm a bit new on that topic, so a bit lost. I read in the MB manual that there was an option in BIOS to force the 2 PCIex16 slots to x8, but the option is not appearing for the x16_1 slot. Right now I don't really know what to do, and I was hoping someone would have an explanation, maybe even a solution that doesn't imply uninstalling a SSD or a GPU. Thanks for your help !
You ran out of PCIe lanes here. It’s set up so the 1070 goes below the minimum needed for SLC and then shuts down. This happens automatically.
x8 is also handling dual 1070s. Are you working on modeling or something else?

SLI isn't helpful for gaming and hasn't been for a long time. Your choice of black text makes it hard to read for others who use the forum's dark theme unless they enable highlighting.
They probably didn<|pad|> to use SLI, because GPUs can work together independently for compute tasks.
The ASUS UEFI setup is quite straightforward. You should be able to adjust the lanes as desired. Once that's done, you can enjoy the cards exactly as intended. Many users incorrectly think about SLI, but it's not the same as what you're playing.
Hello! Yes, they weren't using SLI, I'm just getting it set up now. It was actually functioning properly. The problem here involves more than just SLI—it's also related to the second GPU that isn't working well or at all. I changed the text color, hoping it resolves the issue. Thanks for the advice. However, since I'm not very experienced and haven't found a solution for the x16_1 slot, I'm really open to suggestions on how to get x8 working for this. Thanks a lot!
You can get the pdf for the motherboard from ASUS. They still offer it. Make sure you check if the issue is related to a lane and not disabling the entire slot. One of my boards has this problem, specifically the third slot, not the middle one. It’s uncertain if it will work even with the top card at 8x.
