I recently purchased an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z for $50 CAD, but it failed to handle SMD capacitors properly. I’m trying to identify the exact components because their models aren’t available. I found the schematics, which are a CAD file, but I need assistance with repairing the board. All traces appear intact, and the output voltage is correct. However, some PCB area was damaged slightly. I require guidance on selecting replacement capacitors for both front and back sides. BoardViewer.zip openboardview-9.95.1-win32.zip ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME-Z 1.00A (BOARDVIEW).zip

It seems your mainboard has failed permanently. It might not be fixed, so consider getting a replacement board.

The signs are still clear and only the center part had electrical contact issues, which caused the damage. If the surrounding components are intact, they should function correctly and provide proper voltage. This appears to be an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z model, not a new board I can purchase.

I understand. Many supportive individuals are here, though even those who know a lot about technology often prefer to upgrade their boards in such situations.

Realize the buyer had prior knowledge of the company's failure. Accept the high cost paid and expect further losses while trying to fix things.

The board was purchased for $50, including the hardware and cooling components. It originally cost $30 CAD but came with an i7-2600k processor and a 120mm liquid air cooling pump, both priced at $20 each. Buying a functional board from 2011 for over $300 doesn’t seem worthwhile to me. I don’t want to discard it, as there’s still room for repairs. I just need help figuring out the specifications of those five SMD capacitors so I can fix it myself. I’m confident it can be repaired.

Seek assistance from individuals who own items on eBay until you locate someone willing to support you.

It can be resolved, but the optimal choice is to discard it. You could incur nearly the same expense as the entire board just to repair it.

You're suggesting checking eBay first, and you're not planning to discard it entirely—replacing a few capacitors would be inexpensive.
