Hey there, I'm facing an issue with my Asus ROG Strix 2080 Super. Recently, I've been struggling to play games like Destiny 2 or GTA 5 while streaming videos on YouTube simultaneously. The videos often load slowly, stutter, or stop completely. According to the HWInfo data, when I run these apps, the GPU temperature rises to about 65-70°C, but the hotspot stays around 105°C, causing throttling. Even when I open Chrome and HWInfo alone, the temperature gap is roughly 20°C. This is concerning because a typical difference of 20-40°C between average and hotspot isn't ideal.

I've tried cleaning the card thoroughly and adjusting the fan curves, but nothing worked. Then I took it to a local repair shop to replace the thermal pads and paste. They returned the card slightly cooler—only about 2°C lower in both average and hotspot readings. That makes me wonder: maybe the paste wasn't the issue, or perhaps I overspent on the service.

My main concerns are: I can't enjoy gaming and streaming together without performance drops, and the temperature discrepancy is too high for a card rated at that level. Could there be another problem I'm missing? Thanks for your help!

It sounds promising. The PTM7950 could be a viable option. How does it stack up against the Thermal Grizzlys KryoSheet? That product page provides more details. Also worth noting, the KryoSheet is designed to handle electrical conductivity.
