Navigate to settings -> system -> disable "Keep running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" and restart Chrome.

It varies based on your CPU model and available RAM. Chrome consumes about 70% on my Chromebook during regular browsing, which is unrealistic for older or underpowered processors like Celeron or basic AMD/A-series chips.

Have you tried Firefox, a free browser launched in 1994 and still open-source today? A tool built to shield you from online tracking, the direct opposite of Chrome? I can't be a fan of Chrome at all, and it seems unlikely to improve in its current form. Let's switch to Team Firefox and join the small but growing community using it—about 6.78% on desktop and 0.5% or fewer on mobile! Stop relying on the blink rendering engine and embrace open-source solutions!
