We currently possess 16GB, but we're searching for a solid reason to purchase an additional 16GB because prices are exceptionally favorable at the moment. The wider the list, the higher the chance we'll discover a practical application.

I need this for a logical reason, or else I could feel uneasy shortly after placing the order.

When you play Cities: Skylines, there are numerous factors to consider. It's important to check your current usage, especially if you're frequently reaching the 13GB+ threshold.

No no, if I look at my current usage I won't even be able to justify 16gb. It's about what I MIGHT use it for in the future, not what I currently do that definitely needs it now. Someone just give me a nice list and I'll pick one, feel good about my purchase, and we can all live happily ever after

I'm trying to dodge the buyer's regret. Do you have enough cash on hand for this? Are there any other tasks you need to tackle before spending it? Should I improve something in your setup first? If you answer yes, then think about future-proofing, streaming, and video editing—buy what you need and feel good.

I’m fine with the future argument, but streaming seems unlikely to become a habit (and I don’t understand why so many design people include it). Now about video editing with a 9600k—would 32gb RAM really make a difference? And for software like Blender or CAD?

Blender requires more GPU power than RAM, while CAD appears to be CPU-heavy compared to RAM. It’s similar to running one of those programs and multitasking—like opening Chrome or playing games—it can quickly consume around 20GB, especially if multiple programs are open. It might still run if only a couple are active.
