Whenever I attempt to refresh my bios on my asus rog strix x670 e-e from build 0805 to the newest release with the agesa update, my pc instantly powers off and displays error code 34. When I press clear CMOS everything resets back to normal, but whenever I try to update the bios again it always triggers this issue. The system runs with an amd 7900x3d cpu, 64gb corsair 6400mhz ddr5 ram (operating at 4400), rtx 4090 graphics card, asus rog x670e-e motherboard, 1300 watt evga super nova power supply.

From the documentation, I resolved the problem. It seemed necessary to insert the USB stick directly into the back of the motherboard via the BIOS interface. Even after that, the system would still shut down and required clearing CMOS to restart. This time it brought me straight back to BIOS and started updating immediately. That was the most unusual update process I'd seen for the board. My RAM was previously running at 4400MHz (though Amazon lists its base speed as 6400). I assumed my PC was already fast. After reading online that newer BIOS updates with Agesa improved RAM performance, changing it from auto to 6000MHz actually slowed boot time and made Windows feel sluggish compared to the auto setting.
