Understanding the information clearly shows it's not just YouTube using 1.2GiB of memory—it's Edge in full, with the YouTube section taking up 306MiB.
Be real, Linux does very little—you're still using those heavy web browsers.

Maybe skip the edge? I'm using Chrome and my storage stays under 6GB most of the time... But I understand others' views, 8GB seems quite low, you might want to go up to 16GB.
