Don't worry, just remember the key is attached to the motherboard.

The reason this method doesn't function is because it relies on a specific setup that may not match your system's requirements or configurations.

I shared this in the news area with the goal of finding answers for a specific issue by reaching more audiences. Additionally, it's information about a recently released operating system that hasn't been covered in any reports yet.

Because that is a troubleshooting post. Windows 2 Go is an Enterprise feature, and are not legible for the free upgrade. I don't care what you did to by-pass this, it is is what it is. In addition, assuming it would work, for sakes of argumentation, Windows 10 generated a system hardware based global unique identifier with your system 'core' components (if you want to call it that), and use that to activate Windows 10 instead of a product key. So, if you remove your drive and plug it on another system, it will be deactivated.

I had it working smoothly with Windows 10 tech preview only a couple of months ago. I can set up a consumer version of Windows 10 on a USB drive, just like with Windows 8. The main change is that I’m not receiving a free upgrade because the storage device it’s installed on is different.
