So I had success, I checked the BIOS settings and noticed the SATA wasn't configured for an IDE disk by mistake. I switched it over and it worked fine.
Lesson learned: When I attempted to change it, I wasn't careful enough. Then I reset it back to default in the BIOS and it functioned properly. I didn't realize the default settings weren't tailored to my actual build (they weren't set for IDE) and that caused issues. Luckily a friend told me about those IDE disks and I ended up with the right configuration. Thanks again.
