System Asus ROG Z690 Formula i9 13900k uses default clocks. MCE was turned off. G.skill Trident-Z DDR5 2x16GB (XMP not enabled) paired with EVGA 3080 TI ICX and Samsung 990 Pro as boot drive. Issue: After flashing BIOS to version 2602, the update confirmed successfully, but I can't boot anymore. On first start-up, CPU freezes with code 7F for about five seconds, then shows "Test NVRAM" before crashing with D6 code. Later boots complete initialization a few times before failing at the end of the cycle on D6 and attempting to detect HDD. CPU pauses briefly on B6 before returning to 00. Previously ran BIOS 1720 without major issues. I upgraded because 13th-gen stability was promised. Installed latest Intel ME firmware and drivers as advised by Asus, rebooted before flashing. Attempted power cycling: CMOS cleared via button, disconnect power, pressed power and reset. Still can't access the CMOS battery with the custom loop active. Re-flashing BIOS has been tried for every version from 2602 down to 2305. Each attempt shows update success but the boot remains problematic. I can't flash back to my old version—possibly due to a "wifi regulation" issue. I've checked cables, connections, and everything else. No hardware changes were made between a working boot and the initial BIOS flash. I don’t want to send it back to Asus for repair. This year’s support experience with the Z690 formula has been frustrating.

I managed to start up successfully on ver 2403 using the iGPU. In Windows, the 3080 would function but it didn’t work after reboot. After a re-flash, the iGPU booted correctly with the motherboard. However, Windows security now reports no TPM chip is available. I verified the BIOS and saw PTT enabled. Edit: After several flashes, I was able to boot via iGPU on 2602. Once I configured the BIOS, I could start up with the GPU, but the BIOS itself didn’t show through dgpu. Toggling PTT resolved the TPM problem. Edit 2: Disabling monitor overclocking—which resets it—and switching to HDMI to dgpu instead of displayport fixed the issue. Then I switched back to DP, set the refresh rate to 144 (maximum allowed with display OC), and the reboot worked again. After resetting the monitor and turning OC back up to 165, everything seems normal. Hope this helps with your tags: no bios output, bios not showing, ASUS ROG Maximus Z690, Z790 displayport not working.
