Hi friends. Today I received this board but already made mistakes. I aimed to install Windows 10 using a USB pen drive designed for UEFI systems. After plugging in the USB, installing the SSD, and booting up, I saw a message like "DOS mode" and realized I needed to switch from Legacy to UEFI in BIOS—either by changing the setting or disabling Legacy Mode. In the BIOS, I tried navigating through the Boot menu but couldn't locate the exact option; I switched it to EFI ROM. After pressing F10, I couldn't access the UEFI setup or enter BIOS at all. The VGA LED is still on. Now I understand I can try switching back to the previous setting, but I’m not sure how to do that without entering BIOS. What went wrong?
There was an option called Legacy ROM in the submenu. I selected EFI and pressed F10, but now I can't reach the BIOS settings anymore. I'm not sure which exact choice I made, but I remember it was for Legacy activation and then switching to EFI ROM.
It's a nearly fifteen-year-old board—try something, but be aware it might be over.
It seems like you're expressing frustration about a recent issue, but the message is a bit unclear. Could you clarify what you mean by "board worked fine" and "switching option"? Are you referring to a technical problem or a personal experience?
Yes, the information is available via the jumper mentioned earlier.
Yes, it worked. Pressed the clear_CMOS button on the IO, then at startup, and then at boot, F1 appeared. Now I'm back in BIOS again. After booting from the pen drive, pressed F8 and selected UEFI:Kingston Data Traveler.
The system frequently restarts due to BIOS changes or a boot loop caused by hardware instability.
