Used thermal paste on the CPU but the system still won't start.
Hello! I want to let you know that I’m not very familiar with technology. My new computer performed well until I checked its temperatures, which showed a minor drop. I suspected the CPU was getting too hot—around 96°C. I followed the usual steps to replace the thermal paste and made sure to ground myself properly. After applying it, I plugged in the PC but it didn’t boot or show anything on the monitor. The fans are spinning normally, but I’m worried about a possible RAM or motherboard issue. Normally, my RAM lights up when the PC starts, but now it doesn’t. I’m not sure if this is related to changing the thermal paste, but I’m hoping someone can help me figure out and fix the problem. Thank you very much!
Share an image of the connections. If the fans and lights aren’t even trying to start, it likely isn’t a short circuit or a faulty part. I’d think you might have switched off the power supply or unplugged it from the wall. I don’t know what your usual steps are, but a photo would really help identify the problem. (I’m curious about any wires you may have removed and put back.)
