Hello, I've just observed an unusual behavior when using a Type C to Type C cable from my motherboard to charge my Samsung phone. The device shows the same battery level and charging time, but it doesn't increase or decrease. It remains stuck at a fixed percentage. I'm unsure what's causing this issue, and all my USB devices are up to date. It might be a problem with the motherboard or the cable itself. Additionally, I don't hear any sound from the device when plugged in, and it wasn't detected in File Explorer's "This PC" section before. If anyone can explain this, it would be really helpful. Several contemporary devices need greater energy than the internal board can supply. Which charger is included with the phone, and does it match the exact model? Could the connection cable be faulty? Does the device still charge when paired with another cable? Have you tested the motherboard port with other equipment, such as a USB drive?
If it functioned before on that setup, I'd consider switching to a different cable. There could also be adjustments in the BIOS that I haven't seen yet—checking the manual might help. You might want to perform a BIOS reset and then turn on XMP again. Additionally, try connecting your phone to another PC using this cable.
It used to work smoothly when I charged it on the motherboard. It was a Samsung A52 and it provided the correct cable. Now I might need to buy a new one since it doesn’t get recognized. I can’t plug it into a standard outlet because it only supports USB. I only have one Type C cable.
