I'm using Windows 10 (fully updated) on a Ryzen 7 5700X with 32GB of RAM and a Samsung Evo NVME boot device. My startup times have been slowing down significantly. After launching, the system feels responsive, but accessing Windows now takes twice as long as before. It's slower than when I used an older hard drive. I've tried standard methods like checking the task manager and registry, but haven't identified the root cause. I've disabled game launchers and stopped installing bloatware from scratch to see if it helps. I'm wondering if there are any tools available to examine what loads during boot and how long each takes. It seems likely a service or dependency isn't starting correctly, possibly due to integration issues.

XP included a feature named BootVis, which was later replaced by XbootMgr in the Windows Performance Toolkit. The Windows Assessment Toolkit also offers a task called "Boot Performance." Other third-party solutions like BootRacer exist, though I haven't used them.

The initial connections to the Windows Performance Toolkit and Windows Assessment Toolkit all point back to Microsoft. Avoid downloading them from other sources. You should still look up the usage guidelines yourself.

And I recommend checking the BIOS settings to enable verbose mode if possible.
This would allow the BIOS to show detailed information about its operations or actions during startup.
Once Windows is installed:
Review Reliability History/Monitor, Event Viewer, and Update History.
If you notice any dragging or activity while loading, these logs might capture error codes, warnings, or other events.
Update History could also highlight failed or problematic updates that may be related.
