I transferred data from an old computer to move files, but deleting unnecessary windows and programs is proving difficult. Access is being blocked even after adjusting permissions. Despite claiming full control, the system still reports access denied. Can I remove these files without wiping the entire drive?

Open the folder in CMD. Use commands to delete the files as needed.

If there's nothing left on the drive that you still need, this might actually be the easiest way. And a quick format shouldn't take too long either.

No problem, the command prompt won't delete the folder even if you try it.

The drives are almost full, so I can't move files because all other drives are also full. I'm trying to delete about 30GB of Windows junk to free up space and avoid dealing with it anymore.

Securely claim the files first, then attempt to remove them using PowerShell in admin mode. Verify ownership and adjust permissions properly before proceeding. You should succeed if done correctly.

I assure you I claimed responsibility right away, but redoing it on a folder I added to and confirming all extra subfolders and inheritance settings let me simply remove them as usual.
