You're considering the AMD 5600X versus the 5800X. The 5600X is roughly $80 less, but the differences in performance and features might be significant. It depends on your specific needs and budget.

It might seem silly, but should you purchase a prebuilt PC with 5600x or create your own with 7700x?

We need to know your goals for the CPU if you haven't specified them. If the price is identical, the 7700x seems more fitting.

Consider a prebuilt with a 7700x for significant savings. You'll enter the am5 community quickly, and upgradability will be impressive. The outcome depends on your specific needs—are you focused solely on gaming or also interested in 3D projects?

Near a Microcenter, proceed with 7700x. Otherwise, select the 5600 (without X). A DDR5 AM5 setup is significantly pricier than a DDR4 AM4 configuration. However, you haven't shared your budget, requirements, resolution needs, or gaming preferences.
