it connects to a gigabit switch linked to the primary router. I'm retrieving data from a Windows server that acts as my DHCP, DNS, and PFSense main router in a virtual environment.
You verified all PPPoE/internet configurations were cleared from the G801. Activity remains active for about 24 hours after plugging it in without other devices connected. The device is listed as Chinese-made on Alibaba. Running network monitoring tools like Glasswire confirms data origin and provides routing details.
I believe disabling the port prevented it from using an IP address, which might explain why the activity continues indefinitely after 20 minutes. I’ve received it through an ISP router and haven’t purchased it myself. I’m planning to test again but am confident the data still comes from it. Please send a photo of Glasswire.
glasswire doesn't detect the traffic from the g801. It seems the router was connected for about 2-3 minutes, yet the 100MB still appears in glasswire.
I don't have that setup. My connection comes from a FritzBox with an IP like 192.168.1.x, and I also have another network via a 4G SIM. I use PF-Sense to balance traffic between my two internet connections, but on the FritzBox side, some devices show up in GlassWire. The server is also linked to the PF-Sense network.
Yes, as the line reaches 100mbps, no device on the network can access the internet.
You need to draw a layout showing how your devices link together and mark IP addresses or subnets. Check what Glasswire or a network monitoring tool detects coming from the G801, especially if it’s causing WAN loss. It looks like the connection might be getting overwhelmed. Confirm whether you fully reset the G801 before setting it to switch/AP mode. Did you verify the IP assignments in your earlier post? Also, ask what resources and port activity are being tracked by pfSense for the G801 device. If this is causing significant issues, consider swapping it for a solid access point from a trusted manufacturer.
i have resetted the g801 at least 5 times until now , however yes i have resetted it up even before writing on the forum. yes their are the IP that i use. i can't access pfsense when the G801 in attached to the network, the g801 port activity goes crazy when is plugged in the network (blinks super fast). at this point i think that the best solution is to throw away the 801 and buy a new AP. BTW here's my network setup.
