Hi, I own an old FlyingVoice g801 router. I want to use it as a wireless access point. I've already tried assigning an IP address on the main router's range and turned off DHCP on the g801. When connecting a PC, nothing seems to happen. But when I connect the secondary router to the main one, the whole network goes offline. The main router shows 100 Mb traffic coming entirely from the secondary router, and the CPU hits 100%. I'm not sure where I went wrong. Please let me know if you need photos.

You're creating these settings in a specific environment, and visual examples would clarify the adjustments.

Are those the configurations for the G801? If yes, does it include an “operation mode” section that you can switch to ‘AP’? It seems to support a DD-WRT interface. Moreover, there shouldn’t be any “Internet” settings since it isn’t functioning as a gateway. The gateway IP must point to the internal router’s address, not the G801’s. Also, ensure the gateway is connected via an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the G801, not the WAN port.

It involves transmitting 100mbps through the router. If the limit is reached, you must upgrade to a GBE switch and connect cables directly to the required devices.

I don't know that the G801 only has fast Ethernet ports. When I plug a cable from the main to the G801, it starts sending 100MB packets right away. It sends those large packets to the main router, but it doesn't actually reach 100MB speed.

It connects to the device on the opposite side of the network. You can see the details in your computer's Task Manager display.
