Can I connect a PCIe Gen 4.0 x4 from the chipset to my GPU for basic display? My CPU is R9 3950x, and I don’t have an IGPU or a PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 from the CPU for the Asus Hyper NVMe M.2 card. Is it possible? Purpose: CHIA Plotting Motherboard (ASUS Prime x570-P). Slots configuration: PCIe x16 Gen 4.0, Asus Hyper NVMe M.2, PCIe x4 Gen 4.0, RX 580 8GB, etc. Any issues?
For display purposes it's fine. If you're looking for a specific setup, consider purchasing an old Quadro or GT card on eBay for $15 and selling your RX 580 8GB for $500. Alternatively, you could mine it, which should work with 4 PCIe lanes.
