I have a 4TB Samsung SATA SSD and also a 500GB NVMe M.2 drive. Someone knows if you can use an NVMe SSD as a speed booster for the SATA one? Any suggestions? Thanks!

For various tasks and operating systems. Real-world performance differences are limited.

Photo editing process. When exporting in Photoshop, my file lands on a slower SATA SSD. In Photoshop, files under 500MB load instantly, but anything above that feels sluggish. As I experiment with saving big files on my 970 EVO, I notice it doesn’t perform much better on average. I think you’re correct, and it might be a software issue affecting the speed. Appreciate the input!

Sure, I understand. Using a 3970X with a Gen4 NVMe is challenging beyond 500GB, and it might not be worth the effort.
