Likely these tools require access to higher-level features (thermal sensors, SMART data) which may need elevation, but outside this scenario none of them should alter the system permanently—no installations or changes are made.

Back when we were in community college, I took a Windows Server 2003 class. We used removable drives stored in the 5.25 bay slots, each secured with a key. Every machine in the room was identical, which made activation straightforward—just as long as all devices shared the same hardware.
