Hello, I often play classic games without cloud support or dedicated managers. I recently encountered a stubborn virus that clung tightly and forced me to reset my old Toshiba A660 laptop. After transferring the games to a new drive, I was unsure about the proper way to move the game data. Thank you!

If it's not found in your documents folder or any related directories, it resides in the games installation area.

Back then, filenames and file types were determined by the developers. SAV was typically used for savegame data. Try entering %appdata% in File Explorer’s address bar. You might locate the files there. Be aware it moves you from AppData to AppData\Roaming, and possibly AppData\Local. Also, check the Documents folder and the game’s installation directory.

Based on the game, you can find the savegame location by visiting PCGamingWiki and following their instructions. If it isn’t listed there, refer to the areas mentioned by @Naeaes. Typically, games store saves in "My Documents" or "My Games" within your personal folder, or in the %appdata% directory on Windows. Very few titles save directly in Steam folders.

Sure, I can look that up for you. Do you need a specific type of link or information?
