I recently assembled my initial PC featuring an AMD A-10 7850K APU (I understand APUs aren't top-tier, but I aimed for great value and plan to upgrade soon). The AMD Gaming Evolved app records replays or demos, but I’m curious if there’s a way to capture gameplay without opening that app or turning off the in-game overlay, which causes lag.

Are you referring to a game with DVR functionality? It seems the issue isn't an overlay, but rather the software constantly capturing your gameplay. This causes lag because the recording saves recent sessions, limiting how much data it stores. On a weaker PC, this can still lead to performance problems during recording.

I understand the issue stems from the recording program launching without AMD Gaming Evolved, which resolved the problem beforehand.

Thanks, I understand. Sorry about that, it was due to the 1080p recording setting.
