Use a switch or router to enhance your local network performance.
Install a 1 gbps switch in the middle of your setup, connecting it to both the router and the computers. Use one cable from the router to the switch and another from each computer to the switch. All data moves through the switch—computers talk via it, internet flows through it to the router. Switches handle packets without showing themselves; transfers between devices stay inside the switch, so nothing reaches the router.
It depends on your budget. If you have the means, consider upgrading to a better router. Both options can resolve your issue, but there are some considerations: - Upgrading your internet plan later might restrict performance from the router. - Wi-Fi 5GHz offers higher speeds than 100Mbps, so using a switch could slow down connected devices. Keep these points in mind; if you're not concerned, opt for the switch.
