Hi everyone, my current TP-Link AC750 Wi-Fi router offers only about 12MBps LAN speed compared to its advertised 100MBps. For improved performance, you might want to consider upgrading to a faster router or switching to a wired Ethernet connection.

Install a 1 gbps switch in the middle of your setup, connecting it to both the router and the computers. Use one cable from the router to the switch and another from each computer to the switch. All data moves through the switch—computers talk via it, internet flows through it to the router. Switches handle packets without showing themselves; transfers between devices stay inside the switch, so nothing reaches the router.

It depends on your budget. If you have the means, consider upgrading to a better router. Both options can resolve your issue, but there are some considerations: - Upgrading your internet plan later might restrict performance from the router. - Wi-Fi 5GHz offers higher speeds than 100Mbps, so using a switch could slow down connected devices. Keep these points in mind; if you're not concerned, opt for the switch.
