Use a regular external drive as usual and start POP OS from there without putting it on any internal drive.

Okay so i have some questions related to this. If i setup a partition , will it leave my windows untouched (extra stress on that word) Also will i be able to get a legit experience from a speed and responsiveness stand point?(well this q seems counter intuitive considering i was trying to install it on a usb smh)
Keep Windows intact (just create a backup first). Try installing it on a virtual machine to understand how it works. Running it alongside another OS should yield similar results.
That sounds like a massive 150-gigabyte backup for your 150-gigabyte storage device.
