Use a page file when there is still unused memory available.
I follow the tutorial "Will More RAM Make your PC Faster?? (2020)" and notice my pagefile usage increases when I leave the computer on for extended periods without shutting it down. All configurations remain set to default. Even in Rainbow Six Siege, the pagefile usage stays high even when memory isn't being used. After restarting, the usage drops back to zero but remains that way until later. Is this typical behavior? The operating system is Windows 10 Home, GPU MSI RX 570, RAM 2x8GB DDR4, Corsair values, MOBO ASUS H110M-K, CPU Intel G4560.
Certain apps rely on the pagefile even when RAM is present. This is typical.
Windows often clears unused RAM to boost efficiency, making space for disk caching and supporting other applications. The issue arises when the page file impacts speed, though in this case it doesn’t seem to be the problem.
