I purchased a 1600 AF before the compatibility problems with AMD chipsets/cpus arose. Since the B550 chipset can't support Zen+, the B450 won't work with 4000 CPUs, and the X570 is costly, I went for a budget B450 (not the A320, because I plan to overclock it to 4GHz on the stock cooler). Which one should you choose between the MSI B450M Gaming Plus and ASRock B450M Pro4? The price gap is about $20. My thought is that when DDR5 arrives, I’ll upgrade my system.

It should manage the overclock well. You’ll be using 2x8GB RAM with 3200 MHz, and XMP will help optimize performance.

MSI offers superior VRM design. Choosing a B450 Tomahawk Max or Mortar Max (for mATX builds) lets you seamlessly integrate a Ryzen 9 processor.

You're correct, but I don't believe upgrading to a Ryzen 9 is necessary since I mainly use my PC for gaming. I plan to move to a next-gen processor with more cores and better performance per clock, particularly once DDR5 becomes standard.
