Yes, you can create a compact disk image around 200 MB and burn it to a USB drive. This allows you to test your hard drive's health or status on a portable medium.

Gparted serves as a partition manager; however, it doesn’t assess hard drive condition. Please obtain a bootable USB drive.

Smarttools was integrated into Gparted recently, and it works with all the live CDs I own. The gnome disk utility also includes a health monitor. Since I didn’t specify a particular version, I assumed you meant Gparted Live.

Another choice for gparted live is available at the provided link. Puppy and slax are also viable alternatives.

I wasn't aware of this. Honestly, I've only worked with GParted from Ubuntu before. Thanks for the tip!

@babadoctor @Master Disaster, Hirens remains a solid choice with many helpful features already included. I’m more accustomed to other tools and haven’t explored Hirens much.

Hirens doesn’t include the Gparted live CD feature, but Gparted is more compact and easier to manage compared to Hirens, which has expanded significantly over time.
