I own an MSI Z490 ACE with a 64GB RAM setup and an i9-10900K processor paired with an Intel UHD 630 integrated GPU. Because of the limited GPU availability, I can't install the RTX 3090 right now. However, I have the NVIDIA GT8400GS with 256MB of VRAM available for free. You're likely aware that even the built-in UHD 630 is significantly more powerful than this older dedicated GPU. Since my motherboard lacks HDMI, DVI, or VGA outputs for the GPU, I'd like to use the GT8400GS as the main output and leverage its integrated GPU to render games. This setup seems feasible?

It might be feasible, as the BIOS often includes options to enable multiple GPUs. However, it catches me off guard that a premium board lacks a dedicated video port, making it hard to confirm whether that feature is enabled on your system.

It caught me off guard too when I realized there were no outputs. I’ll verify the BIOS settings once my PSU arrives—it should be here next week, so I can see what options I have. If I can set 8400gs as a video output for the IGPU, at least I’ll be able to run some games; otherwise, I might not be able to play anything at all.

Another option could be utilizing the type C port on the rear and checking if a type C to HDMI adapter functions; it may not work, but it’s worth trying.

I checked a bit more on Google and it seems I’m in a tough spot. The z490 ace doesn’t have VCCGT power lines, so it won’t supply any power to the igpu. That also means no Intel QuickSync for me… Wow, MSI is definitely a top-tier board.
