USB Type-A or Type-C?
He dad just got a new HP ProBook 450 G9 and can't connect his Logitech Signature M650 mouse. The ports seem to have metal tabs on the bottom, which might be blocking the connection. The product details say they’re U SB 3.1 (Gen 1 Type-A). Do we need a mouse with slots that fit those tabs, or is there another solution?

These are two USB type A units and one type C. Apart from minor variations in cables for fast data transfer and port shapes, they function identically to other devices. I captured an image of your work laptop’s USB ports, and they appear identical. I suspect the variations we’re observing are caused by changes in lighting. However, I’ve noticed that USB ports seem a bit more rigid recently. I haven’t checked the specifications recently, but it’s possible they’re designed to keep cables secure. I don’t remember any USB ports being stiff on my chassis, and none of my motherboards have such ports that feel overly rigid.
