When done correctly, you should be able to start it right away—just give it a try; no need to complete the installation manually

The issue is that I don’t have my PC ready. My main concern was whether I could boot from the ISO file.

They need access to boot from the flash drive on any device, including those in a library. I mentioned Rufus just in case the drive didn’t work.
