USB serial port (COM3)

I put in a plug and another plug-in software to monitor connections. It shows me which parts are turning on and off. The USB serial COM3 port is still working, but it keeps connecting and disconnecting. Can you explain what the COM3 port does?

Typically it's a type of communication tool, like connecting USB to a serial port, often used by network pros to interact with routers and similar devices.

Check removing the device from your device manager and observe any issues.

You’d likely just remove the software you actually installed. There’s no need for extra monitoring tools. You’ll be able to see if anything isn’t functioning properly or behaves strangely in Windows.

Turn off every USB device immediately, then reconnect each one individually to identify the problematic device or port.
