USB Sandisk isn't listed in Devices or Printers.
Hi there. I'm facing an issue with my USB 3.0 device and several other USB 3.0 devices. When I connect it to a specific port—my front panel's first USB 3.0 slot—it doesn't produce any sound indicating the connection was made. It also doesn't appear in the Devices and Printers list, though it shows up on My Computer. The autoplay feature doesn't activate, and I can't use the tray icon to safely eject the hardware. This problem only occurs with this particular USB port; all USB 2.0 drives I've tested so far work fine there. I'm using a Sandisk Extreme Cruzer 3.0 32GB drive. The icons on My Computer are changing, which is helpful for troubleshooting. The main concerns are the missing autoplay on this USB port and the inability to safely eject devices. The drives still show up in disk management under either port. I've reinstalled the chipset drivers, but I can't locate any USB-specific drivers for my motherboard—maybe they're already included. Any advice would be appreciated.
I think your assessment about the USB port is correct. It would be better to replace it with a simple rubber plug or get a new front USB 3 panel. Alternatively, you could continue using it as a USB 2 port. Thanks for pointing this out—I didn’t know I was handling everything well.
