Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a Pioneer FLX6 DJ Controller that runs on USB power and data via USB. It's a USB Bus powered unit drawing 5V at 500mA. Recently, when I turned it on, it lit up but not as brightly as normal—it only lights up and some lights come on. I've tested all four USB ports, and the issue persists. All ports are SuperSpeed. When I connected it to another PC using the USB 3.0 slot, it worked perfectly.

What I've tried: updated the BIOS, installed all HP updates via their software, disabled selective USB suspend, and checked with other devices like USB drives. The controller seems to draw less power than usual, which might be causing the problem. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums, new member!
Other devices like USB drives are working well; the controller appears to be drawing insufficient power.
Have you attempted using a different set of cables?
The thread has been moved from the Motherboards section to the Computer Peripherals section.

I have just placed an order for a new cable. It functioned properly when connected to another PC. I will test it again just in case.

It has been ten years since Google engineer Benson Leung conducted his well-known tests of the USB cables available at the time, discovering they often restricted charging or posed safety risks that could harm devices or ignite fires. At that time, it was reasonable to purchase only cables he had reviewed on Amazon as safe. However, it seems there are still unreliable or non-compliant options available today.

It should be intriguing to test whether the new cable functions properly. The one I own is the original included with the USB controller, and it worked on another PC; however, it's possible that specific USB port or cable setups might cause problems.
