USB over Fiber?
USB over Fiber?
Searching Amazon for "Corning Optical" products and related terms.
Link? I don't click on Amazon! The issue with Corning and similar products is they draw power from the PC, which means the noise travels from the PC to the receiver. In another forum someone might attempt to cut that power cable and disconnect it. Perhaps they would sever the fiber connection...
You can connect an adapter to obtain power from an external source and retrieve data from your PC.
I'll watch the video first. Before explaining the issue, notice that the adapter uses a copper cable for power transmission. This can carry noise and doesn't adequately protect the server during a lightning strike. The recommended solutions from both companies are preferable since I can use my own 100% glass fiber cable, which is completely isolated from power. The power will be supplied locally at each end.
