It could seem simple at first but finding Windows 8.1 on a USB involves some steps. You might need to purchase a retail disk and then copy the contents onto the USB drive. Some people receive their operating system via a retail disk, while others download it separately. The process depends on how you obtain the OS and whether it’s bundled with the hardware or sold separately.

You can generate an ISO file from the disc and transfer it to a USB drive. Or, you can download the ISO and obtain an 8.1 key.

You can obtain the ISO file and employ software such as 7-Zip to unpack it, then relocate the data onto a USB storage device. On Windows 8, you may also access the ISO through mounting and transfer the contents there.
