USB live file with storage staying active in another operating system's environment
I’m unsure about the exact issue you’re facing. I know the aim is to avoid compatibility problems by making the VM interact only with a consistent emulated hardware setup, not the real one. However, installing Linux on a virtual hard disk isn’t working—why would that happen when using a Live USB instead? That seems unusual.
He needs a USB stick running Linux, so he can start it directly on any device or launch it inside a virtual machine using the system already present there.
The live USB environment functions perfectly as before inside the VM. The main drawback is losing direct access to other drives on the machine, though I think setting up some folder shares could help.
