USB hub problems? Need assistance!
HP Pavilion 15 eco0515na (2020) AMD Ryzen 5 3550H paired with Windows 10 19045.5247 comes with 2 USB ports and a 3.1 USB-C connection. I’ve already tried various fixes and solutions. Updating everything from Windows to drivers, including chipset and BIOS updates, didn’t resolve the issue. Removed the root USB hub and experimented with different ports—four hubs were tested, three using USB-C and one using a standard port. The mouse and keyboard function independently now, but the keyboard only works briefly during typing and then stops after a random letter repeats, resetting to low DPI. It seems the device struggles under load, even though plugging in a simple keyboard and mouse works fine. I’m unsure if a self-powered hub could handle this setup, but I’d appreciate any advice or clarification.
Have you explored a power USB hub? Do you own a USB power meter? It might be that your laptop ports aren’t fully meeting the USB standards—or even exceeding them—and adding a hub won’t solve the issue since the available ports are still limited.
Everything functions independently! It relies on the USB hub for itself.
If I had to make an estimate, it seems a powered hub would help. My thought is the problem might be related to power.
