Usb Headset Training Cable - y lead on a chromebox - unexpectedly blocks audio!
We're working with a USB Headset Training Cable - Y Lead on a Chromebox. Various users connect their headphones as required. The cable includes a mute function. It occasionally silences the microphone on the Chromebox unexpectedly. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Not sure about your question.
The issue involves an audio cable from the Chromebox that divides into two 3.5 mm ports, allowing both users to connect their headsets. Is that accurate?
Are the mute buttons shared between both users, meaning pressing it would mute both devices?
If muting occurs unpredictably, the button is probably faulty.
Other factors could be involved, such as different types of headsets (TS, TRS, TRRS).

This suggests that mixing audio connections through the splitter might cause problems. More details are needed.
Do you have something similar to the following product?
USB to 3.5 mm female connector
Your "Y" might feature two 3.5 mm female ports, and users connect their headsets through those ports.
Can you share a link to the training cable being used?
