USB headset
USB headset
Hello. I previously used a laptop and my 3.5mm jack headset functioned correctly (audio plus microphone). I have transitioned to a PC and observed that my PC fails to recognize both the 3.5mm audio and microphone simultaneously; it can only detect one at a time. I understand the reason for this. Consequently, I must purchase a new headset. My inquiry is: Do USB headsets support both microphone and sound input? Will my PC recognize the microphone and audio through a USB headset? I prefer not to acquire an external microphone due to inconvenience. Please suggest alternative solutions, excluding splitters.
USB headsets utilize a single USB connection for both microphone input and audio output.
My Xperia headphone/mic previously functioned by silencing speakers when the headset was plugged in. Following a recent Windows update that modified the sound settings layout, this feature is no longer active. To resolve this, you should navigate to the sound settings and locate the dropdown menu for sound output. A helpful tip: my PC’s USB port is narrow, so to prevent damage to the mounting panel by pushing it into the case, I use a short USB cable and connect my headset to one of the PC’s ports.
