When I use my computer, USB devices like my keyboard and headphones often stop working after a while. Restarting the machine is the only way to bring them back online. This issue began recently and I'm unsure what's causing it. I assumed it might be related to my USB hub, but it could be something else. I'm really hoping someone has a solution, as this is very frustrating. Thanks,
Robinmist

Device manager/usb controllers
Access each entry and verify the power management configuration.

What’s your full build, including PSU. The info may help if there is a known bug. I’m thinking of Gigabyte and Aorus b550 elite ax v2. Had a bug where it would periodically disconnect or simply not start Bluetooth… bios fixed it eventually.
So help us help you..

I noticed an option labeled "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" or similar. I disabled it and now I have a strong belief it will function properly. I'll check again in three days to see if it works. Thanks!

It is a frequent issue where the system places USB ports to sleep, but due to bugs it fails to resume operation.
Generally, you need to upgrade the BIOS and chipset drivers from the motherboard vendors' website. Older systems might require an external USB driver from the vendor's site.
Another reason could be Apple devices drawing excessive power from a regular USB port. This can trigger the port or hub to shut down, mistaking it for a short circuit. (For some PCs, specific Apple USB port drivers and designated ports are available)
The Windows warning not to let the port sleep is a temporary fix until the BIOS and drivers are updated.
USB Device Tree Viewer is a useful tool for checking USB errors.
German version available: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/usb-devic...r-download
I tried it once to detect a shorted USB hub that was causing problems.
