Uncertain if the category is correct, but I encountered an issue after assembling my PC. My USB devices are shutting off after a short time, especially with the mouse—it can stop working without warning. It usually happens when plugging in, unlike with keyboards or headphones which work fine even during heavy loads like games or running Visual Studio. This occurs occasionally while stress-testing my CPU, GPU, or RAM.

My system specs are: i7-14700KF, EVGA RTX 3060Ti, G.Skill F5-6000J3238F16G (6000mhz 16x2gb), MB gigabyte z790 ud ax rev1.2, PS DeepCool PQ850M (max 850W). Temperatures are normal during gaming: CPU up to 65°C, GPU up to 50°C, RAM up to 38°C.

What I tried:
- Reset/Update CMOS/BIOS – no improvement.
- Plugging the mouse into all USB ports – no help.
- Installing all drivers – no effect.
- Some users reported similar problems online; I contacted Gigabyte support via their website, asking to update the BIOS, but they already did so and didn’t respond.

I’m seeking advice and thanks in advance!

It would be interesting to have a reliable 40mbps USB hub connected to each serviced USB port and peripherals, especially with a known 40mbps rating for USB3. Being cautious about the rest of the setup is important—perhaps using an IR thermo camera or a finger to check for any unusual heat patterns or power inconsistencies.

It's unusual that you've explored these settings. Would you like to try adjusting the Control Panel, Power Options, Change Plan Settings, Change Advanced Power Options, USB Settings, and USB Selective Suspend? Make sure the USB setting is turned off.
