I've now resolved it after days of searching and a lot of frustration. If anyone sees this thread, what I did was check the device manager, chose "Show Hidden Devices," and then removed every device under Storage, USB Composite Device (USB), and System devices (like HyperV). Anything that didn't look right was deleted—sometimes it gets us into trouble. After restarting, my P drive appeared and was accessible. I was worried about hidden devices with the same name causing issues, but it worked for me. Not a safe method, but it succeeded today. I'm sure another challenge is coming tomorrow.
