Usb connection drops on its own in Asus TUF B550 Plus
Hello everyone, the mainboard I'm using is the Asus TUF B550 Plus. It keeps losing USB ports unexpectedly, mostly during gameplay recording with a USB capture card. My friend recommended updating the BIOS, and after upgrading to version 3002 (February 23, 2023), the problem gets resolved. However, it now happens again—especially when connecting certain peripherals like the back port, phone, USB 3.0 hub, external HDD, and HyperX Cloud Core. On my PC, I connect everything via USB ports: Back Port USB 3.0 Capture Card, TP Link Wifi, HyperX Cloud Core, my phone, USB 3.1 external HDD, and an 8BitDo Bluetooth receiver with a Razer Blackwidow Chroma and Logitech mouse. I also use a front port for USB 2.0, an RGB mouse pad, and a Switch AC adapter that powers the dock. Sometimes when I turn on the AC adapter, the second monitor goes blank or stays blank until I reconnect the cable to the GPU. My specs are: Asus TUF B550 Plus, Ryzen 5600X, RTX3060, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, 550W Corsair CX550, Windows 10 64-bit 22H2. Thanks in advance for any help!
Ensure the USB hub you're using has its own separate power supply. Otherwise, it might draw excessive power from a single USB port, leading to unexpected shutdowns or issues.
