Pc Specs: MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI 7800X3D 4080 SUPER 32 DDR5 6000 MT/S Lian-Li 011D Mini Win 11 Please assist! I've updated the system, installed Windows, configured the USB chipset, ensured JUSB4 is correctly seated, tested the cable on another device, and rotated the USB port. Still facing issues with it failing at 2.1. I'm using a USB device tree viewer to check the connected port. Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't pinpoint the problem. Thanks in advance! Great tech helpers! The device on the other side of the USB-C is an S25 Ultra, while my main PC only slows charging when tested with a laptop—can charge fast there.

Welcome to the forums! I’d suggest opting for a wall charger instead. Powering devices directly from a PC can cause issues. Have you verified how your phone handles the USB connection? It’s likely there are around three ways your phone manages that link. Would it work with another device that supports USB 3.1?

It's not about the charging itself, but about combined data transfer and power. The Type C is better suited for these tasks, even if it were just for fast charging on another device compared to the slow charging from my PC. I shared this mainly as an extra point to demonstrate the port isn't functioning properly. Thanks for your help!

Fair. It seems there might be a problem linking the board to the port; I checked if it works with another device. Also, there are four 10GbE A ports at the back—have you used any of them before?

The port requires PD or QC for fast charging. Checking the mobo manual reveals only "USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbit Type C," omitting any reference to PD or QC. This means you can achieve 10Gb/s speeds, but USB 3.x is limited to 5V 0.9A, resulting in slow charging. You keep referencing "2.1": Are you referring to USB 2.0 or USB 3.2 Gen 1? USB 3.2 Gen 1 maxes out at 5Gb/s. https://www.samsung.com/ca/smartphones/g...tra/specs/ Besides that, consider using a different cable.

What type of cable are you employing? The majority of charging cables—particularly the higher wattage ones—offer up to 480 Mbps. 3.2 gen 1x1 provides 5 Gbps, while 3.2 gen 1x2 delivers 10 Gbps. It's impossible to determine the exact model from Samsung's specifications.

I had no idea of this interesting thanks for letting me know. This is what I see hence me mentioning 2.1, I know the cable itself is fine as it works flawlessly on other devices. The exact cable I'm honestly unsure but as said previously it works at Gbps on other devices.

I also have a USB-A-C adapter, but its power output isn't very strong.

The older naming conventions are no longer followed by many makers. The front panel claims 10Gb/s, which is typical, but it would be helpful to have a clear picture. @Bev you’re right—your current approach works as long as you match the supported speeds. (USB speeds aren’t always visible clearly.)

Interesting, this is the 1st time I'm hearing of USB 2.1, and nothing about it on Wiki (I really can't dig through USB-IF official docs right now): Spoiler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB#Release_versions Probably a misnomer, or intentional custom labeling by DeviceTreeView. As such standard doesn't seem to exist. Anyhow, doesn't matter, you truly are stuck on USB 2.0 speed (480 Mb/s)... I'd still try with a different cable. Because unlike other devices your PC essentially has an extension cable attached to it (mobo to front panel), so it might be less tolerant compared to other devices. Now thinking about it, a bit more... I know you said you've seated JUSB4 properly, but maybe the front panel port or the cable going from front panel to JUSB4 is whack. Do you have something else (besides your phone) that can do usb 3.x (5Gb/s or more) speeds? Like I dunno an external nvme enclosure. It would help to narrow down the culprit.
