USB-C external monitor from Asus keeps switching on and off.
Hi guys. I am having some wierd issue with my external Asus mb16ac USB C monitor which was working fine until I did a CLEAR cmos of my bios When I plug the monitor at the back of the MBO (Asus Strix Dark Hero) trough the included USB c cable and I turn the monitor on, the monitor turns on, then turns off after a few seconds. Wierdlly this behaviour ocours when I start doing something on my pc and I'm moving the mouse/windows etc. I had this issue before when I did a fresh install of windows, and I tried a lot of things even in the bios in the end getting it to work ok, but as I said, after a clear CMOS, this issue came up again, so I'm not sure if I really fixed it before in the BIOS, or how did the issue go away. This is really frustrating, and I've spent hours trying to fix the issue, but no success. I am thinking there could be an issue with the USB ports at the back of my MBO, but I am just guessing at this point. Here are a few things that I tried but couldn't solve the issue, just so maybe you guys have some other ideas on what I could do: In windows power management - USB selective suspend settings I've set that to disabled In windows device manager for USB I've made sure to disable 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' In windows I tried unninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers. In windows I tried disabling startup services and processes, thinking there is some software that is conflicting which is triggering this wierd behavior. I updated to latest BIOS, chipset, drivers from DisplayLink. In BIOS APM Configuration option on the Advanced I've set ErP Ready to Disabled In BIOS i've set USB power delivery in Soft Off State (S5) to disabled Any other ideas? Thanks
The monitor appears briefly in display settings before disappearing when power is cut. I also noticed a warning about Display Connection limitations in Windows. Although I attempted to install drivers from 2020 for DisplayLink, the problem persists. I believed it would resolve once installed, but after opening windows and moving the mouse, the display would turn off temporarily and then restart.
