USB-A (Male) to USB-C (Female) Converter for Docking Station (Display Adapters)
USB-A (Male) to USB-C (Female) Converter for Docking Station (Display Adapters)
Hi everyone,
Could someone share their thoughts on this situation?
I own a work laptop with USB C ports for power and a docking station that works well.
Now I’m using an older Windows laptop with only USB A ports and no USB C.
I want to connect my USB C docking station to the older Windows machine.
Can I use the J5create USB A to USB C adapter, model JUCX45?
I’d also like to connect the display and HDMI ports on the docking station if possible.
Any suggestions for USB A adapters that work with a USB C docking station would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
It is extremely unlikely you want what you're aiming for. It's quite probable that the USB Type A ports on your older laptop are USB2 only, with a maximum data rate just 10% of what a USB3.2 Gen1 port can achieve. The presence of a Type C input connector in your HUB suggests it's built for at least Gen1 speed, and possibly even higher. This allows it to handle demanding tasks like high-resolution video streams. USB2 ports simply can't perform such functions, so it's unlikely your laptop could support them effectively. It's also improbable you'd be able to install a software driver that would enable high-resolution video output over the USB2 Type A connection.
