Recently I faced an issue where after turning off my PC overnight, the four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports didn’t provide power or signal to my peripherals, while the USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports worked fine. It seems the power might have been restored after the lock screen appeared, but Windows didn’t recognize those ports anymore. The other ports remained unaffected. During the post-installation process, power was applied to those ports, yet they failed afterward. The BIOS version is B650, and I’m using Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000 with BIOS version 7E26v1L. My specs include an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, a Thermalright cooler, and a Corsair VENGEANCE Black SSD. I’m still trying to figure out why the USB ports behave this way.

I understand your ports are back, but you might want to test booting from a live Linux USB stick to confirm everything functions properly. I think the Windows update might have damaged some driver files, which were later fixed. It seems Windows is becoming more prone to issues as AI replaces coders. Just my opinion.

I'll wait a moment as I don't have a live Linux USB stick right now.

After nearly an hour of attempting to install an image onto a USB drive, I successfully booted into a Ubuntu Live Linux environment. Everything functions properly on the USB, and restarting the computer didn’t disrupt any ports for the Windows OS.

Good news! Windows is functioning properly, indicating the problem is resolved. The Linux USB stick shouldn't affect Windows because it wasn't saved to permanent storage. Since all ports worked in Linux, it looks like there are no hardware issues. Have a great day!

I overlooked the part about testing by restarting or shutting down the computer several times. The temporary solution would last until the next day when the issue resurfaced after turning it off overnight. It appears the problem happens when the PC remains powered off for a long time. This seems similar to another issue I mentioned earlier, where overnight shutdowns caused the computer to stop responding. It seems to have resolved recently, though I’m not sure what changed. You also mentioned there might be a duplicate post with the same information.

These problems can be tricky to solve. It might be related to the PSU, motherboard, cables, or even aliens. You could try swapping out the CR2032 CMOS battery—it's inexpensive and usually doesn't cause issues unless you completely cut power to your computer during shutdowns (like unplugging or flipping the PSU switch). Sorry about that. I also had some trouble with Reddit, which led to a double post.

I maintain the computer connected. I only turn it off by pressing the shutdown button in Windows.
