I got a gigabyte B450I for a vr pc and a NZXT H210. One small issue, the case has a 3.1 gen 2 header and my motherboard only one usb 3.1 gen 1 header and no 3.1 gen 2 headers. Is it possible so split the gen 1 header to 2 gen 1 headers so i can use a adapter to usb 3.1 gen 2 for the front usb c. I need the port to run a usb 3 speeds at least because I am going to use Oculus Link. Any Help will be appreciated. Thanks.

For adapting the header from 3.0 to 3.1, similar to the suggested solution, you should use a USB 2.0 to 3.0 adapter. This will allow the case to support the new USB 3.0 front panel header while maintaining compatibility with the existing socket shape.

I haven’t tried VR before, so this might seem silly, but isn’t there a need for DisplayPort over USB-C with the VR device? No converter would make it work with an older controller.

The quest functions across any USB 3 port, though the exact details remain unclear.

Split only when necessary; grab the adapter and move on. Mixing hubs and splitters causes loss.

You only possess a single USB 3 device and none of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 models, and you wish to utilize your front panel at USB 3 speeds.

Sure, just connect the USB 3.0 to 3.1 adapter and you should be fine. You won’t need a splitter unless the header is already in use. Are you aiming for a USB-C port to function at USB 3.0 speeds?

Yes, your motherboard only supports one USB 3.0 port and no 3.1 Gen 2. Since it's an ITCX build, you can't use PCI-E cards. You'll need a USB 3.0 splitter and a 3.0 to 3.1 Gen 2 adapter.

it seems his setup requires two front panel connectors for full functionality, but his board only has one that works without an adapter—this isn’t the Type C he’s aiming for
